Construction and Calibration of Measuring Probes for the Testing of Combustion Chambers of Jet Engines,

Abstract

A description is given of the principles and equipment for temperature and flow measurements in a jet engine combustion chamber. The equipment used consists of a gasdynamic thermometer for the range above 2200C, a double thermocouple for temperatures up to 1800C, and a special probe for flow measurement which is heat resistant to up to 2400C. The results of measurements and calibration techniques are presented together with an accuracy analysis and possible applications. (Author)
