The Lighting, Viewing, and Communication System for the NOL 8' D X 30' Pressure Vessel,

Abstract

An efficient lighting and viewing system for an 8 ft. diameter x 30 ft. horizontal pressure vessel with a maximum working pressure of 1250 psi has been developed, designed, manufactured, installed, and successfully operated. For the lighting system a maximum of 18 underwater lights may be installed inside the vessel on adjustable racks. For the viewing system a maximum of 5 portholes may be installed onto the vessel. An intercommunication facility to permit communication among the operators during a test, a public address facility for either microphone or hydrophone operation, and a 24-wire instrument cable facility to permit electrical communication between two operating stations during a test is included.
