Coherent Rear Projection Viewer.
Abstract
A breadboard model of a rear projection viewer was developed in order to investigate the relative merits of the laser as an illumination source. Non-conventional techniques were employed to manipulate the laser beam to eliminate objectional pictorial noises and improve resolution. Test apparatus also was developed to quantitatively evaluate the image quality obtained with the laser illumination source in comparison to the image quality obtained from a conventional projection lamp.
