Influence of Lubricants of the Amide Type on the Gelling Time of PVC Suspensions, in Comparison With Other Lubricants,

Abstract

The effect of various lubricants, especially amidic types, on the gel time of poly(vinyl chloride) suspensions at 160C and 30 rotations per min. was examined with Brabender plastograph. Lubricants studied included Hoechst Wax E, stearin, Grisolen (low-mol. wt polyethylene) Hoechst Wax PA-520 1,2-dihydroxystearic acid, Loxiol G 11, Ca stearate, Pb soap, Hoechst Wax C (amidic lubricant), Kampa wax (amidic lubricant), and ICECHIM (amidic lubricant).
