The Metra UM 20 Digital Data Logger,

Abstract

The Metra UM 20 digital data logger creates the prerequisites for automating the measurement and monitoring of large plants and installations. It is designed not only for research departments, but also for following production processes in industry, for measurements in public health maintenance, in astronomy, etc. The author discusses the principle of measuring extreme values, the principle of lineaization, and describes the data logger and some of its parts. A figure gives the block diagram of the data logger. The article describes the linearizing circuits of a data logger, the memory circuits which indicate that limit values have been exceeded, the circuits for evaluating the comparison steps in linearization, the input commutator of the data logger with floating input, and the central amplifier.
