Evaluating Weapon System Accuracy from a Classical-Bayesian Approach.

Abstract

A real-world weapon system test situation is used to show how Circular Error Probability (CEP) point estimates may be obtained. The discussion includes the use of the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test for normality, chi-square confidence intervals, non-parametric confidence intervals, a priori sample size determination, stop or continue decision making during testing, and a method for combining classical and Bayesian techniques for estimating CEP. Confidence intervals involving the use of the chi-square distribution are presented in graphical form for ease of implementation. (Author)
