A Comparison of the Perceived Career Progressions of Air Force and Aerospace Industry Scientist-Engineers.

Abstract

The research investigates the perceptions of career progression of Air Force officers within the Air Force Systems Command. Five motivational factors were adapted as a basis for measuring an individual's perceived career progression. A comparison of the perceived career progression of Air Force scientific-engineering officers and that of a like group of technical supervisors in the aerospace industry revealed no significant differences between the total groups. There were, however, significant differences between the perceptions of various stratifications of the two populations. (Author)
