An Analysis of First Unit Labor Costs for Fixed Wing Aircraft

Abstract

The study examines the first unit labor cost parameter of the learning curve equations belonging to seven different aircraft. The purpose of this investigation is to find a method which will produce good estimates of this parameter prior to the start of production of an aircraft. Simple linear, and log linear, multtiple variable relations were tested for accurate estimates against non-linear functions of weight and time.
