Air-to-Air Synchrotac Program.

Abstract

The Air-to-Air SYNCHROTAC System is to be used for stationkeeping purposes between a master aircraft and up to fifteen slave aircraft. At each slave station, the positions of all aircraft are displayed on a CRT, while at the master station, a nixie readout indicates the position of the aircraft whose identity has been selected on a thumbwheel selector switch. Position information consists of range (distance from the master aircraft), bearing (azimuth angle with respect to the master) and aircraft altitude. The System hardware fabricated during the course of the program is to be suitable for demonstrating the feasibility of the system.
