Development and Production of the Three-Channel Radiosonde AN/AMQ-23.

Abstract

The purpose of the project was to develop and produce a quantity of radiosondes to be balloon-lifted from sea level to 105,000 feet, measuring temperature, relative humidity, and barometric pressure, and simultaneously telemetering all three measurements to ground equipment. The units were developed and manufactured, with special effort expended in attempts to achieve exceptional transmitter frequency stability and to perfect an optical principle analog pressure gauge.
