Research Into the Definition and Demonstration of an Optimum Solid State Switching and Multiplexing System for Use in a Fly-by-Wire Flight Control System.

Abstract

The report describes the trade studies employed in the selection of a preferred multiplexing concept for application in a fly-by-wire flight control system. In addition, a breadboard demonstrator which was designed and fabricated during the subject program is described and the test results are presented. The results of this program indicate that multiplexing is desirable in a fly-by-wire flight control system. The preferred system is one in which all data paths are multiplexed and use is made of pulse coded digital signals for data transmission. (Author)
