Proceedings of the AFML-MRI Conference on Solid Lubricants Held in Kansas City, Missouri, on (September 9-11, 1969).

Abstract

The field of solid lubricants has established itself as an importanc facet in the lubrication of aerospace weapon systems. Bonded films are the most widely used types, due primarily to the aircraft industry. The advantages and disadvantages of using solid lubricants are discussed. The various types of solid lubricants and typical uses in aerospace applications are presented. Future requirements and their influence on current programs for development of new lubricating materials are discussed. (Author-PL)
