Conditioning Pacific White-Striped Dolphins, Lagenorhynchus Obliquidens, for Open-Ocean Release.
Abstract
Two Pacific white-striped dolphins (Lagenorhynchus obliquidens) were conditioned to perform a variety of behaviors reliably and on command while swimming untethered in the open ocean off Point Mugu, California. Observation and discussion of the stranding of one of the dolphins and eventual loss of this animal are included. (Author)
