Shipboard HF Broadband-Antenna System Measurement and Maintenance.

Abstract

The report discusses the general requirements for periodic maintenance and repair of hf broadband antennas by ship forces and industrial activities. Measurement techniques are described, including necessary ship status and instrumentation. Matching-network design and installation are discussed, including use of the Smith Chart, and general rules for matching-network design based on typical antenna-impedance characteristics and component adjustment.
