Analysis of Water Depth Measurements Made on Color Diapositive Plates with the Zeiss C-8 Stereoplanigraph, Key West, Florida Test Area.

Abstract

Measurements made with the Zeiss C-8 Stereoplanigraph of underwater test targets were analyzed to determine the accuracy of water depth determinations made from the stereomodels. From an analysis of the measurements it was concluded that systematic errors in scale existed which resulted in up to nine foot error in depth determination of the deepest target. Up to one and one half foot depth error was attributed to random datum measuring errors. (Author)
