Investigation of Rotary Actuation Technique.

Abstract

A unique, high-torque rotary actuation technique applicable to aircraft vehicle control is described. This device, the Bendix Dynavector Actuator incorporates an integrated captive vane orbital hydraulic motor with a high ratio epicyclic transmission. The demonstration of this rotrary actuator technology has been accomplished by the design, fabrication and evaluation testing of a 100,000 in-lb torque capacity drive. (Author)
