Carboxyl-Terminated Polyhydrocarbons.

Abstract

The preparation of carboxyl-terminated polybutadiene (CTPB) by anionic polymerization was investigated. A number of one-pound samples of CTPB, containing various low molecular weight additives, were formulated for evaluation in propellant compositions. Procedures were developed for characterization of CTPB employing primarily gel permeation chromatography (GPC). It was found that functionalities of various CTPB samples depended upon the process used to prepare them. (Author)
