Side Force Measurement for LANCE Engine Testing.

Abstract

The report deals with the LANCE Engine Test Stand capability to measure the side force developed by thrust vector control value action. The basic calibration was supplemented and validated by a group of dynamic calibrations involving the application of deadweight step functions during booster phase of the engine system tests. A limited sample of such tests performed at ambient temperature conditions along with two hot temperature and one cold temperature conditioned tests is examined. (Author)
