Lightweight Interrogator-Transponder System.
Abstract
This report was prepared to document the development of a Lightweight Interrogator-Transponder System under Contract No. DAAB-07-68-C-0205. The basic goal of the program was to develop a system capable of performing ground-by-air IFF functions. Functional descriptions are provided for both Interrogator and Transponder operation. Detailed descriptions are provided on the following four design features: (1) Adaptive Video Threshold, (2) Interrogator Decoder, (3) Crystal Controlled Clock, and (4) Lightweight Antenna Array. Results of both laboratory and field tests are included and referenced to paragraphs of the Design Test Plan. (Author)
