Comparison of a Three-Dimensional Method of Characteristics Computer Program with Experiment and Analysis of Implications.

Abstract

Experimental pressure data through blunt and sharp cone flow fields at a freestream Mach number of 10.6 are compared with corresponding results from a three-dimensional method of characteristics family of programs. Angle of attack limitations of this family of programs applied to bodies of revolution were examined. The effect of numerical mesh density on program results was studied. (Author)
