Training Implications of the Control and Display Data for the US/FRG MBT-70, M60A1E2, M551, and M60A1,

Abstract

This document presents a comparison of controls and displays in the MBT-70, M60A1E2, M551 and M60A1. It presents the relationship between different Armor vehicle components which have the same system function in terms of name, name labeled, position labeled, type, and location. The primary goal of this study was to define the knowledges required of Armor crewmen in identifying, locating, and operating vehicle controls so that training comparisons among the vehicles available during the 1970's may be facilitated.
