Stress State Transducer Development Program. Phase III. Transducer Fabrication. Phase IV. Transducer Evaluation.

Abstract

This report contains a review of the Stress State Transducer Development Program and details the design and test effort in which several instrumentation systems were fabricated and evaluated experimentally. The ability of these systems to determine surface strains and propellant stresses was evaluated as to reliability, accuracy, and repeatability. Conclusions concerning the value of these instrumentation systems for use in solid propellant motor stress/strain state determination are drawn, and techniques for application are recommended.
