Analysis of Sinusoidal and Random Vibration Energies.

Abstract

A method of analysis of the total available kinetic energy of sinusoidal and random vibration programs has been developed, using the common basis of unit mass. Fifteen energy expressions are presented for the sinusoidal domain, including log and liner sweep, and fixed frequency dwell. Twenty-eight energy expressions are presented for the random domain, including broadband, swept narrowband, and harmonic spike series. Two examples are presented, showing application to MIL-STD-810B. Calculated energies for eighteen curves of this standard are tabulated. In order to facilitate energy comparisons, and as a guide to program synthesis, eighty-five energy ratio expressions are presented. (Author)
