Design of Bomb Ballistic Slide Rules for Attack Pilots.

Abstract

This report describes the theory, construction, and use of a special-purpose slide rule for attack pilots. The slide rule calculates ballistic lead angle, ejection velocity correction, angle of attack, and various stick-bombing release parameters; no reference to bomb tables or aircraft flight manuals is required. Slide rules for several different aircraft are described. (Author)
