Reliability Tests of MLU-8/B Cartridges.

Abstract

Ninety MLU-8/B cartridge kits (180 cartridges) were divided into groups and the cartridges in each group subjected to certain environmental and/or physical conditions. The cartridges were then fired to determine reliability. In one large group of 60 cartridges subjected to acceleration, vibration, humidity, sand and dust, salt spray, and temperature shock in sequence, 8 cartridges failed to fire satisfactorily. It was not possible to deduce which condition or combination caused the failures. In the other 120 cartridges, divided into small groups of 12 with cartridges in each group subjected to a single condition of storage and handling environment, there were no failures. (Author)
