Abstract

The objectives of the study are to review and evaluate logistics planning procedures during the Vietnam era and to make recommendations for improvement as regards the following planning areas selected for review: The adequacy of Logistics Guidance for Service planning and principal item requirements forecasting; The current contingency planning procedures for logistic support of worldwide combat operations; The War Reserve Materiel planning systems of each of the Services; Industrial Mobilization Production Planning for anticipated requirements during contingency situations.
