Logistic Support in the Vietnam Era. Monograph 13. Maintenance

Abstract

An in-depth review of the maintenance organizations and operations of each of the Services during the Vietnam era was conducted. The review identified areas for improvement by individual Services and areas for attention of the Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Specific conclusions, recommendations, and observations concerning effectiveness, strengths, weaknesses, and lessons learned are discussed. Five special studies were conducted: Deferred Maintenance, Maintenance Support Considerations During Concept and Development, Depot Maintenance, Maintenance Manpower, and Automatic Data Processing Systems.
