Development of a Hydrophone Vibration Isolation Mount for Use in Towed Line Arrays.
Abstract
The final configuration was in the form of radial webs at 120 deg angles suspending the hydrophone at its longitudinal axis. Measurements of axial transmissibility show a natural frequency of less than 5 Hz in the axial mode and effective vibration isolation at frequencies higher than square root of 2 times the natural frequency which is consistent with the theoretical transmissibility. The mount is simple to fabricate and install and is adaptable to many types of hydrophone configurations.
