Military Potential Test of Mechanical Rain Repellent System.

Abstract

The rain repellent system consists of a pressurized container of rain repellent fluid mounted on a bracket assembly, and associated electrical circuits and plumbing. Activation of a control switch causes a solenoid to open a valve allowing approximately 5 cubic centimeters of fluid from the container to be sprayed on the windshield. Change in aircraft weight and balance by installation of the rain repellent system is negligible. A test was made to determine whether the PAC rain repellent system has military potential for use on UH-1()/AH-1G Helicopters. (Author)
