Feasibility Study of High Temperature Wire Terminals for Aircraft Usage.

Abstract

Commercially available uninsulated terminals, temperature rated from 200C through 650C, were evaluated. The terminals provided satisfactory performance when crimped with the two tools recommended in this report. However, only those terminals, particularly sizes 22-18 and 16-14, having an insulation support are considered suitable for aircraft usage. No high temperature insulated terminals were available for the study. A proposed revision to Specification No. MIL-T-7928F to cover the terminals was prepared. (Author)
