State-of-the-Art Survey of Ferrocement.

Abstract

From this literature study it was found that ferrocement is a composite material of superior mechanical properties when compared to reinforced concrete. This superiority is reflected in greater flexural crack strength, tensile strength, ductility, and impact strength. Much more research into the material properties of ferrocement must be done to fully understand the nature of the strengthening mechanism in ferrocement and to provide designers with comprehensive, reliable information necessary for the maximum utilization of ferrocement.
