Investigation into the Effects of Temperature on CL65 Capacitors and RC07 Resistors.

Abstract

The purpose of this investigation was to determine the behavior of style CL65 non-solid tantalum capacitors and style RC07 carbon composition resistors under different ambient temperature conditions. Parameters of interest are capacitance change and resistance change. Military specifications for these parts permit wide variations with temperature; of interest however, is the typical behavior to be expected. Researched were technical literature files (RADC, DDC), technical papers (IEEE, etc), vendor's literature, and IDEP test data. With the exception of the latter source, little quantitative data was found. Curves were developed from the available data, and an attempt was made to calculate means and standard deviations.
