A Survey of Several Jet Circulation Control Systems.

Abstract

A survey was made of numerous quasi-two dimensional studies of blowing circulation control or jet flaps for helicopter rotor applications. The cambered airfoil, cylindrical and elliptical profiles were considered. Much of the data was found applicable to rotors, and variation in test conditions and lack of systematic data on profile shape made the analysis incomplete. Although the elliptic shape showed some advantage over the others, it was not possible to determine a clearly optimum shape for rotor applications. (Author)
