Microwave High Dielectric Constant Materials - Task II.

Abstract

A theoretical analysis was performed to determine the properties and basic parameters needed to prepare high dielectric constant (>90), low loss (tan delta <0.0003) and low temperature coefficient of dielectric constant (<.00004/C) ceramic materials for microwave applications. On the basis of this analysis, glass-ceramic materials having a variety of dielectric properties were prepared and screened. Major emphasis was placed on evaluating the effects of various heat treatments and compositions on the dielectric behavior of BaTiO3-SrTiO3 glass-ceramics at microwave frequencies (1 to 12GHz).
