Development of an Electron Beam Recorder for a High Resolution Electronic Camera (EBR for HiREC).

Abstract

A high resolution Electron Gun Assembly (EGA), a supporting high vacuum system, and the associated electronics for a self-contained, ground-based, Electron Beam Recorder (EBR) was developed. The EBR was designed to record video information at a bandwidth of 10MHz with a resolution of 27 lp/mm on 5.0 inch wide AgX film. The system includes an in-vacuum film transport with a capacity of 350 feet of Kodak SO-219 film and is fully self-instrumented for performance optimization. (Author)
