Environmental Testing of the SMU-64/A PAL Simulator.

Abstract

Two first article SMU-64/A permissive action link (PAL) simulators for the SUU-20/A bomb rocket dispenser were subjected to environmental testing according to MIL-S-38981 (USAF), dated 17 February 1969. One SMU-64/A was subjected to high temperature and thermal shock and low temperature and thermal shock tests. One SMU-64/A was subjected to humidity, mechanical shock, and vibration tests. The entire environmental testing sequence was completed with no visible mechanical failures or detectable electrical function degradations. (Author)
