High Temperature Resins for Structural Laminates and Adhesives.

Abstract

The objective of this program was to develop the polyimidazoquinazoline system as a superior high temperature resin for the preparation of structural laminates and adhesives. Preparation of improved glass- cloth-reinforced laminates form the AF-R-500 polymer systems with flexural strengths in excess of 50,000 psi at room temperature, and after such thermal agings as 1000 hr at 600 F, and 100 hr at 700 F is described. These resins are evaluated for thermally stable structural adhesives. Adhesives tape preparation and laminating studies are reported. (P.S.-PL)
