A Study of Systems Interfacing: A Case Description and Analysis of the AGM-69A/FB-111A Interface.

Abstract

This paper emphasizes the importance of interfacing in today's world. A general background in the area of interfacing is presented. The organization and documentation of interfacing, the character of the integrator, the types and areas of interfacing, and the problems encountered in interfacing are discussed. The interfacing of the AGM-69A, which is a short-range attack missile, with the FB-111A long-range bomber is used as an example to illustrate managerial relationships, organization, and problems encountered in interfacing. Recommendations to improve interfacing are made and are in relation to the problems in the AGM-69A/FB-111A interface. (Author)
