The Total Measurement Control System.

Abstract

Industrial calibration control systems have historically been designed around calibration and control of test and measuring equipment, after the fact, with primary emphasis on the recall and subsequent recalibration of the entire equipment inventory. In many cases this approach has led to suboptimization of the overall measurement process. This paper discusses the total measurement control system with emphasis on those essential elements that must be included in order to provide the most effective utilization of technical and financial resources on a continuing basis.
