Feasibility Study of Modifying Mark 312 Fuze for Use with Mark 8 Mod 2 Rocket Motor.

Abstract

The report describes a study to determine whether it is feasible to modify the Mk 312 fuze to make it compatible with the Mk 8 Mod 2 rocket motor under all launch conditions. The study concludes that the modification is feasible and can be accomplished by reducing the required arming acceleration of the fuze from 12 to 7.5 g. Recommendations for and estimated costs of follow-on development of the modification are presented. (Author)
