Multichannel Recording Techniques for Multiple Aperture Sensors.

Abstract

This is the Final Report on a program to develop a recorder using laser beam and ultrasonic light modulation techniques to generate and modulate several light beams with a single optical element. As additional benefits, the beam steering effect capability of the modulator is used to compensate for the FAR-effect distortion encountered with panoramic receivers; and with a second modulator for fast, inertialess fine synchronization of recorder and receiver. The recording system has been completed and laboratory tested. The system consists of four units and is capable of airborne operation. (Author)
