Tactical Operations System. Basic System Description. Annex M. Tactical Troop Movement.

Abstract

The Basic System Description (BSD) is a basic system specification for the Tactical Operations System (TOS). TOS is an ADP system being developed to support tactical army commanders in the 1975-1980 time frame. The Technical Summary of the BSD provides a general description of the TOS. Annex M supports the Technical Summary and is restricted to the functional application of Tactical Troop Movement at division level only. This application supports the division staff with timely information on roads and organizational units to include status, capabilities, and vehicle requirements. It also aids in the selection of march routes and the scheduling of the movement of march serials. Annex M describes the data base, input and output formats, transaction processes, special processes and estimates transaction loads and data base volumes. This application interfaces with Friendly Unit Information (Annex B), Terrain Intelligence (Annex F), and Weather Data (Annex K). (Author)
