A White Smoke to Simulate CS Smoke.

Abstract

The object of the study described in the report was to develop a pyrotechnic mixture which, when functioned in an E49 unit, would produce a white smoke to simulate the CS cloud thermally produced from the same munition. Intimate mixtures of 2,4-dehydroxy benzophenone and various pyrotechnic blends pressed into E49 units have shown promise in that they have given clouds which resemble CS clouds thermally generated from E49 units.
