Offshore Discharge of Containership.

Abstract

The evaluation was to determine the ability of the U.S. Army to off-load containerships where port facilities are not available. This report is concerned with the off-loading of containership by helicopters and lighters and the related operations on the shore and at the air terminal. Two containers were instrumented to obtain shock levels encountered during container movement and handling. (Author)
