Special-Purpose Digital Computer Operating on the Principle of Linear-Circular Interpolation, Intended for Continuous Program Control of Milling Machines,

Abstract

The paper describes a special-purpose digital computer using straight-line-circular iterpolation for the continuous program control of milling machines. The special-purpose machine, (or interpolator for short) was developed at the Electrotechnical Institute, Warsaw. The paper discusses the following problems: the method of interpolation (contour and velocity); the means for path correction; the principles of programming; the technical realization of the system; and the technical parameters.
