Report on Interservice and Interdepartmental Support. Volume I,

Abstract

The study was conducted by the Defense Supply Agency Analysis Division at the direction of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Supply and Services). Within the broad objective of seeking additional benefits and economies through expanded utilization of interservice agreements, the specific objectives of the study are to: Re-examine basic definitions to insure their clarity and usefulness; Consider ways of establishing more uniform utilization of resources available in one locality; Determine management data requirements for effective evaluation of the program. By Memorandum of 28 February 1970, the Assistant Secretary of Defense (Installations and Logistics) addressed the matter of changing force structures, budget reductions, and the impact of these actions on existing interservice support agreements. The Analysis Division was requested to explore, as an added study objective, the adequacy of existing DoD policy and procedures in this area. This Report contains the findings, conclusions, and recommendations of the study. (Author)
