Nosetip Design Analysis and Test Program (NDAT). Volume I. Part I. Improvements in Environment and Materials Response Prediction Capabilities.

Abstract

A study was conducted to provide a comprehensive design analysis computer program for use in the prediction of nosetip response in normal reentry environments. Studies were performed to improve the environment and materials response models. These studies include angle-of-attack capability, surface roughness heating, boundary layer transition onset, and modification of the chemical ablation model. (Author)
