Synthesis of Energetic Oxidizers by Radiation Techniques

Abstract

High energy radiation at liquid nitrogen temperature was used in attempted synthesis of ClF7, BrF7, ClF5O, and a polymer of N2F2. No evidence for the successful synthesis of any of these compounds was obtained by either mass spectrometry or low-temperature infrared spectroscopy.
