Abstract

The volume presents an analysis of likely trends during the period 1970 to 1985 which will affect the institutions existing in Western Europe in 1970. Trends considered deal not only with economic developments within the region but with political, economic and military pressures external to Western Europe during the period. The final chapter assesses the impact of these various tendencies upon political, economic and defense institutions. (Author)
