Millimeter Wave Communications Program: High Speed Digital Transmission Design Study Radio Set AN/GRC-173(XW-1).

Abstract

The report presents the results of a study to determine the most suitable methods for interfacing a selectable mixture of secure television channels, high speed facsimile, high speed digital data, and numerous secure voice channels, for simultaneous transmission and reception by means of a digital stream over a line-of-sight propagation path. Design criteria were established for a solid state modulator-demodulator complex which will accept these various inputs and convert them to a composite digital signal for transmission. (Author)
